Entry Fee:

FREE – registration to participate in the Northeast Kingdom half and full marathon is completely free – however, we ask that all participants spend money supporting Island Pond. 

Race Gear:

Purchasing race gear reinforces the spirit of this event.  Participants will be directed straight to local vendors who have crafted race shirts and medals.  All profit stays with the vendors and further supports our mission of giving in Island Pond.

registration limit:

We are not limiting the field size in either the half or full marathon.  We want to see a big crowd coming to Island Pond to support the community.  Registration cut-off date is 9/1/2023.

Race Bib Pick:

Race bibs and packets can be picked up at the Brighton Municipal Building: 49 Mill St. Island Pond VT 05846.

Saturday September 21st – 11 – 6 pm       Sunday September 22nd – 6-8am

Parking: 

Parking site: Town Ball Field – 435 Derby St. Island Pond, VT 05846.  There will be volunteers directing cars at this off site location starting at 7am.  It is a .6 mile walk (downhill/flat) to the start line.  A shuttle bus to the race start/finish will run continuously beginning at 7am and offer return trips beginning at 12pm.

Limited in-town parking available.

Gear Check:

Gear check will be available at the start line.  Racers must keep and have their gear tag in order to retrieve their gear post-race.

Course Time Limit:

The full marathon will have a course time limit of 6 hours.  

The half marathon will have a course time limit of 6 hours.

Aid stations:

The course will have water available at the 4, 10, halfway (13.1), 17, 23 and finish (26.2) mile markers. 

It is also likely that aid stations will pop up along the route.

With this in mind, we expect all runners to plan accordingly and being self supported throughout the race.  Bring friends and family and have them create a pop-up aid station along the route!

Port-o-lets will be available at the following mile markers: Start, 5.5, 10, 13.1, 23, 26.
